Strawberries Ocean View Hawaii

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruit. We always grew strawberries growing up in the Pacific northwest. I have been trying to research varieties that would do well here in Ocean View. My search lead me to try two varieties. Quinalt ( the bottom row in my box) and Eversweet (the top two rows). So far both varieties seem to be doing very well. All of them tried to flower the second week after being planted. I picked off those buds so they can focus on root structure. I did over fertilize them shortly after planting I think so many of the plants died off. I got my plants from Direct gardening an online retailer. They have some bad reviews (a lot) but these strawberries came in good condition. Many of my plants didn't look great on arrival but I will keep you updated on how they do down the road.
