Cucumber

Living at 1,760 ft in Ocean view HI we're trying to start growing our own everything! One thing we've been trying to grow is Pickling Cucumbers. We managed to get a few off but so far its been one per plant or so which certainly isn't enough to make pickles out of!

Birdhouse Gourd

Trying to start a garden here in Ocean View HI at elevation 1,760ft. I've always been interested in history. One of the ways that water used to be transported is using birdhouse gourds. So I thought I'd give it a go sadly of the 6 seeds planted only one of them grew! and its been going well ever since.

Onion

Im working on growing Onions here in Ocean View Hawaii I'm at 1,760 feet in elevation with an average of 12 hours of sunlight daily. SO far I've mostly been trying Granex onions from seed (Aina Ola Seed), Spanish Onion from seed, Green onion from seed, and American Flag Leeks from seed. So far most of the seed has not sprouted I've gotten one Granex so far after 3-4 months of trying. Granex according to the package is the "Maui onion" so I should be able to grow it just fine. The Spanish Onion I have learned is a long day onion so will likely not work. The American Flag leeks have easily been the most successful they still seem to have a long way to go though. Im hoping to get some more seed or try some other methods of sprouting.

10/8/2017 most are leeks towards the back are green onions re grown from the grocery store.
